Subly ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Device Identifier: We generate a random unique device ID stored securely in your device's Keychain to identify your device. This is not linked to your personal identity and is used to save your preferences and vocabulary progress.
Sign in with Apple (Optional): If you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple user ID and, if you choose to share it, your email address (which may be a private relay address). Your name is stored only if you provide it. We use this information solely to link your learning progress across devices. We do not receive or store your Apple ID password.
Language Preferences: We store your selected native language and target learning language to provide personalized content.
Vocabulary Data: Words you save, quiz results, and learning progress are stored on our servers linked to your device ID or Apple account.
Subscription Information: If you subscribe, Apple handles all payment processing. We only receive confirmation of your subscription status, not your payment details.
We do not collect your phone number, location, contacts, photos, or browsing history. Sign in with Apple is optional — you can use the app without creating an account.
OpenSubtitles: We use OpenSubtitles API to find and download content for vocabulary extraction. No personal data is shared with OpenSubtitles.
TMDB: We use The Movie Database API for movie and TV show information (titles, posters, descriptions). No personal data is shared.
OpenAI: We use OpenAI API to generate word definitions and translations. Only the word and its context sentence are sent, no personal data.
Apple: Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information.
Adapty: We use Adapty for subscription analytics and revenue tracking. Adapty receives your anonymous device identifier and subscription status to provide us with aggregated analytics. No personal information is shared. See Adapty's Privacy Policy.
TikTok: We use TikTok Business SDK for advertising measurement. When enabled, TikTok may receive your device identifier to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. You can opt out via the App Tracking Transparency prompt. See TikTok Privacy Policy.
Sentry: We use Sentry for crash reporting and error tracking. Sentry receives anonymous crash data and device information to help us fix bugs. No personal information is shared. See Sentry Privacy Policy.
Your data is stored on secure servers. Vocabulary data is cached locally on your device for offline access. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information.
You can delete your account and all associated data from the app's Settings. If you need assistance, contact us at ayyubnajafzade@gmail.com.
Your data is retained as long as you use the app. If you delete the app, locally cached data is removed. Your device ID is stored in your device's Keychain and persists across reinstalls. Server-side data linked to your device ID or Apple account may be retained for up to 12 months after last use.
Our app does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is suitable for all ages as an educational tool.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the app and on this page.
